Meet LaShawn Diann Walker, a dynamic and passionate visionary leader in the non-profit sector who is known across the KC Metro and beyond for championing profound causes, uplifting communities and selling out her non-profit organization events! Over the past several years she has used her proven marketing strategies to attract thousands into a room utilizing her natural skill set, knowledge and love of marketing. With a wealth of marketing experience that she has honed during her combined 30 yr career in corporate America, as a business owner and 13 years in the non-profit sector as founder and CEO of Suburban Balance, she now wants to share her marketing strategies to help her clients increase their bottom line and meet attendee and fundraising goals.

LaShawn recently founded LDW Consulting, a marketing strategy consulting business she started after multiple inquiries over the past several years from women across the Kansas City Metro and beyond asking if she could provide mentoring, coaching or consultation services on how to help them plan and achieve successful SOLD-OUT conferences and events like hers. Helping others is what she loves to do, it’s who she is at her core. Now through LDW Consulting she will spend her extra time helping others sell out their events with the blueprint she has used to achieve her own success. She finds joy in marketing her own events and is ready to help a growing sector of clients sell out their events. Others have sought her guidance on how to start, sustain and succeed at running a non-profit, and eventually this will be a service she will offer at LDW Consulting as well. For now, she plans to consult with clients on event marketing strategy. She will consult on the side and continue leading the non-profit she founded 13 years ago as CEO, a role that has become a part of her life’s purpose. After multiple conversations with event planners, other non-profit leaders, churches, conference organizers, small business owners to name a few, LaShawn realizes that the need is great, she will fulfill that gap and help others sell out their events with the strategies she’s used. Afterall, she has built a reputation of planning, marketing and promoting her own successful gatherings. She will share her expertise in her spare time to assist those who are desiring to maximize turnout and achieve their event goals. Helping to equip and uplift others comes natural to LaShawn! During the past 13 years as Founder & CEO of the difference making and thriving non-profit organization, Suburban Balance she has used her marketing skills and expertise to sell out her own events, most notable, a Kansas City favorite, which has been called one of the most inspirational movements of our lifetime, the LIFT HER UP Movement, which has led some in the KC metro community to refer to her as the “queen” of event planning. This well-known annual women’s history month event, which is an extension of her non-profit has drawn thousands to attend.

Now through LDW Consulting, she will share her proven marketing strategies through a host of seminars, workshops and one-on-one consulting to help others maximize their event turnout. Public Relations, Sales and Marketing all fall within her areas of expertise. LaShawn holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications Management with an emphasis on Public Relations from Missouri State University. LaShawn’s successful marketing corporate career includes Pharmaceutical Sales and Bank Management prior to owning her own home design and furniture business storefront in the early 2000’s!

LaShawn has spent her life in Kansas City and knows the Kansas City landscape well. She’s been married to her college sweetheart for 32 years.
